Shirodhara

Shirodhara is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment that involves pouring a stream of warm herbal oil or liquid along the center of the forehead. It is a relaxing and rejuvenating therapy meant to calm the mind, soothe the eyes, and balance the body’s energy. The stream of oil is usually poured by a trained therapist, who ensures a smooth flow of the liquid to heal and detoxify the scalp and face. Shirodhara is often used to relieve stress, anxiety, and fatigue, and is also believed to enhance memory, concentration, and overall well-being.

Ayurveda has been carefully nurtured in Kerala for more than a thousand years. From specialised treatments to prescribed diets, it is an integral part of our culture. Ayurveda is a way of life to us and not simply a method to cure ailments. The Ayurveda practitioner aims at the holistic growth of the patient instead of focusing on a single issue. This ensures long term health benefits and stabilises the body. Shirodhara or Moordhanyadhara is a treatment to cure ailments like headache, fatigue, insomnia, nervousness and stress with herbal oil. It is performed as part of the Poorvakarma practices prior to the Panchakarma Treatment in Ayurveda.
